Although we're the oldest yacht club in RI, we occupy a modern building with a deepwater marina, a 485' stone breakwater, and a large mooring field running north and east. We provide launch service and dock personnel along with a transient dock and a pump-out station. Our Clubhouse has a member's lounge, bar and restaurant where members can relax after a day on the water, dine with friends or just enjoy the panoramic view of the bay. Showers, restrooms and a waterfront picnic area are available for those who wish to stay aboard their boats. RIYC has an extensive race program for sailors. There are spring, summer and fall race series, and numerous inter-club events. Additionally, the Club runs bay and offshore cruises for both power and sail. Members also use guest moorings in popular anchorages and enjoy guest privileges at other yacht clubs in the bay and beyond. RIYC has a proud history of competitive sailing on Narragansett bay. Even today it hosts the largest fleet of classic Herreshoff S Boats anywhere in New England. The Club was founded in 1875, making it one of the oldest yacht clubs in the United States.
