One of the best aspects of the Newport Spring Boat Show is that it allows buyers to take boats directly from the Show to the water. It’s a great time to strike a bargain with brokers, dealers or private sellers who are eager to sell, or to outfit the boat you already have. There’s a variety of powerboats and sailboats, new and pre-owned available. And if financing a boat in this economy has you baffled - we have a special Workshop on Saturday at 1:00, “Creative Ways to Afford a Boat”, with experts in the field of finance, insurance and banking to answer your questions. The Show also features booths with marine electronics, services and accessories. And if you’re looking for bargain - be sure to visit the Marine Consignment area where there are used marine items of all kinds. Partial proceeds from the sale items will go to the Seamen’s Institute. Sail Newport has joined us again this year to introduce families and individuals to the sport of sailing. Also on the weekend, the WOW Mobile from the New Bedford Seaport will delight kids of all ages with touch tanks, scientific equipment and other educational activities associated with the sea.
